GHOST OF A DOG / Petri Hagner / 2016 / Finland / 7:01
An abandoned and dilapidated greyhound track, which scientists from the past (or from the future?) are trying to revive back to life. In the end only ghost dogs appear momentarily, disappearing again back into oblivion.
NIERIKA / Antoine Danis / 2016 / France / 7:41
For the gray days of winter, I was going.
The head in the wind, the eye watching.
From flowers to leaves, and from domes in mature forest.
The sounds and images met.
MONOTONE RED-COLOURED GNOME / Vera Sebert / 2016 / Germany / 7:10
Text fragments and moving lights appear, shaped like abstracted aquariums, windows and screens, overlaying each other and disappearing into a black and endless room. Inside a sphere that neither consists of air nor water, our view is banished by the glowing composition and entraped into an absent-minded and hypnotised stare. The strange sound of fish-voices, artificial colors and grainy footage stimulate the senses and generate their own narration that manages without story.
THE BLOCK / Nadine Boller / 2015 / Switzerland/Kyrgyzstan / 9:00
In the middle of the steppes of Kyrgyzstan an old foundation dating back to the Soviet era is gaining more and more importance in the nomads’ daily life.
AFTER THE STORM / LAS GOTAS DEL DILUVIO / Felix Tobin / 2016 / United States / 6:45
This is the story of a small group of raindrops, as we follow their adventures during and after the storm.
ONE / Juha van Ingen / 2015 / Finland / 7:39
The starting point for ONE is a video taken with a mobile phone. The camera hasn’t been able to capture the original view and the resulting video contains only mystical glitch. What causes the glitch? What is the moment or subject, which was originally attempted to be documented? Is there a huge planet or a tiny cell in the video? PErhaps it is something else – a human or even god? The soundscape of ONE is homage to big questions, a mash-up of 60’s sci-fi cinema soundtracks.
