Festival guest: Veljko Vidak

18 November 2016

As the second foreign festival guest we introduce the Croatian visual artist and filmmaker Veljko Vidak. He will arrive to the festival with the French screenwriter Emmanuelle Felce to present their film Kasetti, that was shot in Finland and will now get its Finnish premiere in Pori. In the film a young woman from Ukraine arrives to meet her father for the first time in her life. Guided by an audio message recorded 28 years earlier by the one who has abandoned her, she goes to the only address she knows, in the old port of Helsinki. Vidak’s background in visual arts can be seen in the painterly style of Kasetti. Vidak has also worked as the artistic director of the Subversive film festival in Zagreb.
