The story is an amalgamation of ubiquitous reference to literary fictions, as well as historical documentation of the events leading up to the signing of the notoriously flawed Treaty of Versailles, and the Interwar period between 1918 and 1939 that it ominously set the stage for.  The young protagonist (played by Tom Sweet) isn’t merely present for these events; he seems somehow to be metaphysically linked to them, possessed by the notions of the era.” – Brady Corbet
